Im not being rude but if youve been lucky and found one, faultless, really good one another is unlikely.
These are old cars vw has no interest in supporting parts wise.
They are overcomplex in a period when the main electric supplier Bosch have gone useless.
I would not spend my or anyones money on another, lifes too short to be fixing it constantly.

Ive heard the rack is hydro electric.
From the little experience with full electric its that part that heats up/stops working.
Plug it in and put fault codes here till someone clever will answer.
Dont drive it till fixed, not worth riskin your life at all.
Check the dash light comes on with the ign and not tampered with.

There is no easy, nbsp or pleasant answer.
At this mileage everthing is suspect.
Fixing any one part is false economy, something else will give in.
The metal detritus will be in every part of the engine causing havoc, it needs removing 100%.
The short answer is a rebuilt or known good unit.

Hi. There was a company advertising on youtube to code a cluster to your car.(mk5).
Not recomending tho as not used them yet.

Im getting a car that isnt fussed where its clocks are from or if theres the letter "D" in the day of the week its being fitted. Its crazy were accepting this nonsense. Built in obselesence .

I’m trying to enable automatic mirror folding via the remote key on my Golf Plus.
My driver door module is:
1K0 959 701 N
HW: 1K0 959 793 K
HW006 / SW1213
Passenger side is the matching:
1K0 959 792 K
The mirrors are electrically folding and work normally from the mirror switch.

i've got this same issue. i've ordered a used ignition barrel, key and door lock as a set from a breaker for £50.
will need to now swap the barrel, door lock and the blade of the key to my old one. the hardest part is getting out the security bolts

Nice to know you’ve still got it mate, I had a laser blue 3 door many years ago (also on 05) and I loved it!
Not had those wings or anything but one thing I will say with the rust is it will probably end up coming back even if it is treated, unless it gets cut out, probs best getting another tailgate I’d say!

Hindsight is amazing, but I should have had the EGR mapped out when I had a remap a few months ago as have had engine light come on with P0401 EGR insufficient flow code. Grrrr!!

Turbo coolant return hose, 06J121492C.
You can pick it up from either a k03 or a k04 as they are identical. Make sure you change the crush washers when you bolt the new one back onto the turbo. You can get it from any scrapper if they are willing to sell it. Not worth going new. Make sure you pay attention to how you mount it cause it sits crushed between the eng
